Recently the Oakwood Safety Department (Fire, EMT, and Police) visited the Historical Society buildings and grounds, to familiarize themselves with access to the buildings in case of an emergency. 1/3rd of the force came on each of three days. They came in their emergency vehicles in case they needed to respond while they were visiting us. Fortunately they were able to stay for the entire tour. They saw two floors plus the two basements of the main house, and each of the 4 outbuildings.

On one of the days the emergency vehicles were parked on the street in front of the house, with their lights flashing, while the staff toured the facility. People driving by on Far Hills may have wondered what was happening.
