The Hidden Manor Tour features one of Oakwood’s finest and historic homes. This enchanting English Tudor was built in 1927 by Edward Tytus Gardner and his wife Janet. The home eschews the typical half-timbering, stucco and ornamental chimneys typically found in Tudor homes. The home is surrounded by large streams, ponds, deep woods and extensive trails. Learn about the Gardner family who built the home, Ludolph and Francine van der Hoeven who lived in the home from 1971 until 1995, and Alexander and Elizabeth Jump who served as the Gardner’s butler/valet and personal maid.
